Salzburg

Day 3-4

“The difference between Germans and Austrians is like the difference between a battleship and a waltz. Germans always go for a head-on collision. It rarely has grace and melody and rhythm.  Austrians tend to make their lives easier. First of all, they’re very polite.

Second of all, they don’t mean it.”

~Christoph Waltz

On the morning of Day 4, we took a beautiful tour of beautiful Salzburg, including the beautiful gardens featured in "The Sound of Music." Which... nobody in Austria cares about. (That didn't stop me from singing "I Have Confidence" the whole time.)

The morning ended with a lovely cooking class at Edelweiss Cooking School, where we learned how to make strudel! And how to drink Schnapps! One of which was much more difficult than the other!!

Day 3, we departed Munich and headed into Austria. But when you are on your way from one beer country to another beer country, what else should you do, but stop for more beer??

We had the afternoon free to explore on our own, so Jeff and I (at my insistence, let's be honest) went to visit Schloss Hellbrunn, a 17th-century pleasure palace for the old Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg.
