Munich

Days -1, 0, 1, and 2

"Of one thing there can be no doubt: if Paris makes demands of the heart, then Munich makes demands of the stomach."

Munich Tour 9.jpg

We arrived in Munich a couple days early, because we wanted to leave plenty of time for travel snafus and jet lag.

That first cup of coffee was *very* important.

Honestly really all I did that very first day was stuff my face so that I wouldn't pass out from exhaustion. No regrets though.

I mean, meat + cheese + no sleep in 25 hours = BLISS.

And then, once you're in Munich, what else is more important than the first beer?

Day 0, the first day of actually being *awake* in Munich, we visited the Munich Residenz, where the royals lived. While the building suffered large-scale damages during World War II, it has benefited from extensive restoration efforts.

Day 1  - technically the first day of the tour, because we met our wonderful group that afternoon. However, before that meeting, we visited the Pinakothek der Moderne, the modern art museum. We also had some crazy ice cream!

Day 2 - we had our city tour from local guide Patrick - who was, by his own admission, "pretty funny for a German". He led us through architecture, history, and modern life, without ever making it feel like he was just doing a job.
