Jeff is a big fan of amusement parks, and we live pretty much equidistant between two of the best in the US. So when I found out that there's an amusement park within the Vienna city limits, of course we had to go!
After breakfast on the last day of the tour, my family group all went our separate ways for the morning. Mom went to see the Spanish Riding School, and Jeff and Dad went to the military museum. But me? I went in search of whimsy. And I found it!
And as much as Jeff loves amusement parks, I love music. (As evidenced by the Philharmonic visit!) So we went to visit the Haus der Musik, which is equal parts a museum of classical music in Vienna and a "science center" about the physics, audiology, and psychology of music. It's a fascinating visit.

There are many more pictures than I was able to share here, and even more places in Bavaria and Austria that we weren't able to get to. It's an amazingly rich and fascinating part of the world. I'm grateful to Rick Steves Tours for helping me to see it the first time, and I'm hopeful that it won't be the last.
